UNION — Family and friends of the late Miracle Smith held a special remembrance ceremony Sunday afternoon.

Loved ones of seven-year-old Miracle Smith, who passed away last week due to an accidental drowning in the Union County YMCA swimming pool, remembered Miracle on Sunday afternoon at Foster Park.

“This was the beginning of a tradition for my little girl — an innocent little girl,” said Jamie Smith, Miracle’s mother.

Since pink was Miracle’s favorite color, pink balloons were released in front of the playground at Foster Park. Jamie said the particular spot at the park was her daughter’s favorite.
