Stand together and make a difference

Mark Cathcart

My name is Mark Cathcart and I am a Republican running for the State House of Representatives, District 42. I would first like to thank God for allowing me to be born in the greatest nation on earth. No where else do people experience the freedom we as Americans do. God still has His hand on our nation, this may not always be the case.

Growing government and the ever present war on Christianity is changing the complexion of America. We have stood by and nearly allowed this nation to be taken over. The tentacles of control are reaching into every aspect of our lives. Politicians with self advancing agendas are rotting our nation from within.

Abortion and recent issues do not have anything to do with the rights of one group or another. It has to do with changing the foundational fabric of America. Do the unborn have rights? I say YES. There needs to be outrage and more people to publicly support the rites of unborn babies! It is time that God fearing men and woman stand up and say that enough is enough.

It is not an accident that our constitution has stood as long as it has. Now our second amendment right is being attacked on a daily basis. Without the ability to defend and protect yourself and your family, even from a tyrannical government, all the other rights are merely words on a paper. “…The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall NOT be infringed.” This is a problem for progressive liberals who wish to impose their will on the general public without the threat of repercussion or rebellion.

Taxes, regulations and overextending laws are stifling our business community. We are on the verge of becoming a second place economy. If the free market were set free again we would experience the strongest and greatest recovery anyone has seen in over a century. The strain of government laws, taxes, and regulations need to be reduced on those who are sustaining our economy and stop propping up failing companies and philosophies artificially. Government is not supposed to be all for all. As Gerald Ford said, “A government big enough to give you everything you want is big enough to take everything you have.”

I have never held public office before, but after much prayer and seeking guidance from God, I feel led to run for the South Carolina House of Representatives. It is time for Christian men and woman to stand up and seek these positions. I am a pro-life Christian conservative who supports traditional marriage, our Constitution, school choice, and the enforcement of immigration laws. I am not a politician, a politician votes for the betterment of their party and themselves. I aspire to be a statesman, to stand for what is right regardless of the consequences.

“Christian values applied to political decisions” is my slogan. This nation was founded on Judeo-Christian beliefs. How far we have strayed.

“If My people, which are called by My name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways; then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and heal their land.”

— 2 Chronicles 7:14

I am asking for your support. Stand with me and together we can make a difference! Vote Mark Cathcart for South Carolina House of Representatives District 42 on June 14.

God bless South Carolina, and may God bless the United States of America.

More Government = Less Freedom

More Laws = Less Liberty

More Taxes = Less Money
