The Union County Sheriff’s Office reported the following arrests:
— Thomas Eugene Harris, 52, of 2502 Santuc-Carlisle Hwy., Union, was charged with the practice of law without a license around 3:45 p.m. June 18. According to the incident report, Harris came into Magistrates Court dressed in a suit, carrying a brief case and presenting himself as the legal representation for a defendant in a traffic case before court. The report states the judge questioned the subject several times about his standing with the court and the defendant in an effort to determine his qualifications. The report states the prosecuting Highway Patrol officer asked what law firm Harris represented in order to forward information to the law office, but Harris declined to reveal that information. The report states the judge finally asked Harris directly if he was a lawyer to which he replied that he was not. Court proceedings were then halted, and charges were brought against Harris.
— Donald Wayne Alexander, 33, of 532 Eaves Road, Union, was charged with arson around 9:19 p.m. June 23. The arrest came after the investigation of a structure fire at 6423 Whitmire Hwy., Union, which had no power or water at the time.
— Amy Denise Patrick, 31, of 118 Trammell Drive, Union, was charged with forgery around 12:25 a.m. June 24. According to the incident report, Patrick used a credit card belonging to her former employer to make four separate purchases at Pizza Hut between Jan. 23-Apr. 3 totaling $105.14.
— Clifton Lee Edwards, 45, of 1208 West Main Street, Union, was charged with third-degree assault and battery around 1:55 a.m. June 24. According to the incident report, Edwards pulled a knife on a man while at an address on Duncan Ave. in Buffalo.
The Union Public Safety Department reported the following arrests:
— Tonya Shenell Means, 35, of 175 Industrial Park Road, Union, was charged with two counts of breach of trust around 8:05 a.m. June 23. According to the arrest warrants, Means took $400 from a cash register while working at Walmart, located at 513 North Duncan Bypass, Union, on June 4 and June 16, totaling $800.
— Shantera Shantee Pride, 22, of 101 Pine Street, Union, was charged with disorderly conduct and criminal domestic violence around 1:19 a.m. June 24.
