UNION — USC Union Lady Bantams signed three new players within the last two weeks. The Bantams will move from the National Club level to National Junior College level next year. Coach Amanda Warley states, “All three of these girls will play very key roles in the classroom and on the field.”
• Makenzie Wall lives in Mount Pleasant, SC and has a 3.5 GPA at Wando High School. She plays for the Carolina Diamondback travel team. Makenzie will come in as a catcher but can also contribute time as third base and first base. She will add significant power to the Lady Bantam’s 2017-2018 lineup.
• Hannah Johnson lives in Greenville, SC and has a 4.3 GPA at Berea High School. She plays for the Full Count travel team. Hanna will add to the Lady Bantams 2017 pitching staff and in the outfield. She currently leads her high school team in highest batting average with a combination of power and speed from the left side.
• Ashley Ponder lives in Polk County, NC and has a 3.8 at Polk County High School. She plays for the Full County travel team. Ashley will come in as a utility player that will contribute in the line-up. She finished her 2016 high school season with a batting average of .389.
