MONARCH — A Monarch Elementary School teacher has been honored displaying “professional excellence” in her efforts to educate her students.
Horace Mann was a 19th century American politician and educational reformer who promoted universal public education provided through publicly funded and operated public schools.
The Horace Mann Teacher of the Month Award honors public school teachers stand out among their peers for their efforts to educate their students.
Monarch Elementary School teacher Jodie Ledbetter has been recognized as Horace Mann Teacher of the Month.
A press release announcing her receiving the award states that Mrs. Ledbetter is a valuable member of the Monarch Elementary School faculty. Fellow teachers state that Mrs. Ledbetter is very deserving of this award.”
The press release quotes MES Principal Mickey Connolly who says that Mrs. Ledbetter “consistently goes above and beyond with her students, making them feel they can do anything. She has paid for field trips, purchased supplies, made costumes, and provided mountains of encouragement. If ever anyone was born to be a teacher, it is Mrs. Ledbetter. She is energetic, positive, and extremely hard-working. She doesn’t seek recognition, but constantly displays professional excellence.”
