UNION — It’s commitment to “Service Above Self” helped win the Rotary Club of Union some very special recognition recently.
On Thursday, June 23 the Rotary Club of Union attended the Rotary District 7750 Awards and Installation Gala at the Commerce Club in Greenville. The gala included dinner and district business followed by a Networking Reception.
The gala also included the installation of District 7750 officers, Club Presidents, and the 2016-2017 District Governor.
As one of his last official acts, outgoing District Governor Terry Weaver presented awards to the clubs of the district including the Rotary Club of Union which received the following awards:
• Governor’s Bronze Award of Excellence
• 2015-2016 Presidential Citation Gold
• 2015-2016 Zone 33 Public Image Citation
Clubs must complete required activities and follow specific guidelines in order to receive the listed awards.
Rotary Club of Union President Torance Inman said the awards symbolize the commitment of the club and its members to service to local community and beyond.
“As president of the Union Rotary Club I’m very proud of the club’s accomplishments which lead to the club receiving these awards,” Inman said Thursday. “These are club awards indicating that the members excelled in their service to the community, Rotary International, and supporting the Rotary Foundation.”
