JONESVILLE — The Jonesville Elementary/Middle School 2015-2016 Teacher of the Year is not only a teacher at the school but also the mother of three students who attend JEMS
A press release issued by the school states that “Jonesville Elementary/Middle School is very proud to announce their 2015-2016 teacher of the year, Mrs. Brandi Ketterman!”
The press release states that “Mrs. Ketterman is a graduate from Winthrop University, and has been teaching in our district for approximately eleven years. She started her first teaching job in 2005 at Union County High school where she taught for seven years. While teaching at the high school, she added the endorsements of Gifted and Talented and Advanced Placement to her certificate.”
It further states that the current school year is “her fourth year teaching at Jonesville Elementary/Middle School. She feels extremely blessed to work with the students at JEMS. As the art teacher, she gets to work with students from kindergarten through eighth grade. She loves the fact that she can build a rapport with the students as they grow from year to year. She also enjoys taking photos and putting together the yearbook each year.”
The press release states that Mrs. Ketterman’s involvement with the school goes beyond being a teacher, pointing out that “she has a loving husband and three young children, who all attend JEMS.”
“When she’s not teaching art at the school level, the press release states that Ketterman “promotes art throughout the community by volunteering and also teaching classes at the Arts Council in Union.”
