Fixing some chicken for Homecoming

Saturday, Oct. 31

4-7 p.m.: Mon-Aetna Baptist Church will hold a Fall Festival including games, inflatables, a climbing wall, a cake walk, trunk or treat and more. There will be free hot dogs and snacks, and fun for the family.

6 p.m.: Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church holds a Halloween Carnival. There will Trunk or Treating, games, and a meal. Everyone is welcome.

Sunday, Nov. 1

Noon-Until: Bethlehem United Methodist Church, 1622 Kelly Road, Union, serves Sunday Dinner. The menu includes fried chicken, roast beef, steak & gravy, creamed potatoes, rice & gravy, macaroni pie, green beans, lima beans, slaw, rolls, tea, and dessert. Cost is $8 per person. Call 427-1622 for takeouts (ready at 11:45 a.m.).

3 p.m.: Corinth Baptist Church holds Deacon Ordination for Trustee Dennis Ferguson, husband of Roslyn Ferguson, and Trustee Lonnie White, husband of Harriet S. White. Guest speaker is Rev. James Mason, Moderator of the Pacolet River Baptist Association, and Pastor of New Emanuel Baptist Church. Rev. J.A. Calhoun, Pastor.

Wednesday, Nov. 4

5:30 p.m.: Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church will hold its “Poor Man’s Supper.” The menu will be baked spaghetti, salad, toast and a drink. Desserts are extra. Music starts at 6 p.m. with vocalist Elaine Gaston. The meal cost is $4. Take-out orders are available by calling the church at (864) 427-5319.

Thursday, Nov. 5

Noon: The Community Prayer Meeting will be observed at the USC-Union gazebo. Please come and join with fellow citizens of Union County, and with others in other places as we pray for our country, our community, our state, and also for our world, and for the Church. Please pray for our military, our police, EMS personnel, and others who risk their lives to serve and protect us.

If you can’t get there, please take some time for special prayer during the day. All are welcome.

Saturday, Nov. 7

11 a.m.: Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church will hold its annual Chicken Salad/Chicken Stew sale. Dine-in and take-out orders will be available.

4 p.m.: The Pacolet River Baptist Association holds its Second Annual Fellowship Banquet. The banquet will be at the Pacolet River Baptist Center on Lovers Lane. The fun and fellowship will include a Christian comedian, DJ, a game for couples, and dinner.

Please come out and enjoy an fun filled evening. If anyone needs tickets please contact the Rev. Geoffrey Stephens, Pastor of the Red Hill Baptist Church, or any church member. Donation $10 for adults and children 12 and under free.

Sunday, Nov. 8

2:30 p.m.: McBeth Baptist Church Missionary Ministry invites you to come worship and fellowship with us on our Family/Friends Day Program. Our theme for the occasion is “A Willing Church, A Waiting World.”

Our guest Preacher/Speakers will be Minister Jackie Peake-Thompson (One Purpose of Spartanburg) and Shiloh Baptist Church, Pauline, and Pastor Adrian Kollock, Popular Spring AME Church, Laurens.

We pray that we will have a blessed time in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

2:30 p.m.: Monarch Baptist Church will hold Family & Friends Day. The guest speaker will be Rev. Tillotson of Bethel Baptist Church.

Sunday, Nov. 15

2 p.m.: Woodson Chapel Baptist holds their Annual Men’s Day Program. Deacon Ruben, a member of Woodson Chapel, will be the speaker.

3 p.m.: Saint Paul Baptist Church holds Family and Friends Day. The speaker will be Rev. James Patton, Pastor of White Plains Baptist Church in Cherokee County, alongwithin his congregation. Rev. Dr. A.L. Brackett, Pastor.

Sunday, Nov. 22

2:30 p.m.: The Youth Ministry of New Emanuel Chapel Baptist Church will have their “Get Crunk for Christ” Praise Celebration at the Jonesville Municipal Complex Auditorium (formerly Old Jonesville High School), 131 N Main Street, Jonesville.
