UNION — In five months it will be Christmas Day but thanks to the Union County Arts Council you can enjoy some Christmas cheer this month and even do a little early Christmas shopping in the process.
The UCAC is hosting “Christmas in July” at its gallery at 116 East Main Street, Union, through the end of this month.
UCAC Director Amber Ivey said that Christmas in July “is an open exhibit for all of Union County. We have artwork from several different artists and are still accepting pieces. This gives the community a chance to purchase some early Christmas gifts, or find that perfect piece to display during the upcoming holiday season.”
Christmas in July features paintings depicting Christmas scenes in downtown Union including the Union Christmas Parade as well Santa Claus at local landmarks; other Christmas characters such as Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer; winter in the countryside; and, most importantly of all, the birth of Jesus Christ. There is also a display of figurines depicting the Nativity. There are also Christmas themed pillows and note cards.
Ivey said that all the items on display are for sale.
