BUFFALO — It’s summertime and that means Vacation Bible School and what better way to kick them both off than with food, face painting, rock climbing, and a bounce house.

That’s how Wyatt’s Chapel Baptist Church kicked off its Vacation Bible School on Saturday, June 2 by providing the children of the church and the community with 3 1/2 hours of food and fun activities.

During the kick-off, children got to have their faces painted, got to have to balloon toys/animals made for them, do some rock climbing, bounce all around a bounce house, and play bean bag toss and enjoy other fun activities as well.

That’s an awful lot of fun things to do and a child doing all that can sure work up an appetite and that’s why the church grilled and served hamburgers and hot dogs and plenty to go with them. Children, do not live by hot dogs and hamburgers alone, so the church also had popcorn for a nice after lunch treat.

Plenty of food and plenty of fun, it all made for a great day for the children, their families, the church, and the community.

It was great day and served a great purpose, kicking off Vacation Bible School, the greatest thing about summer.

Vacation Bible School, at Wyatt’s Chapel Baptist Church or any church, is a great thing for a child to be involved in during summer because it gives them the opportunity to enjoy the fellowship of other children while learning about the Lord Jesus Christ who, when His disciples rebuked those who had brought children to Him, said “Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.”

Children should learn about the kingdom of heaven and why Jesus has prepared a place for them in it, and Vacation Bible School is a great way to help them do that.
