Prayer for Saturday

Charles Warner | The Union Times We live in a 24/7 world in which information travels at the speed of light through technology that allows each and every one of us to construct on own little worlds limiting our need to interact with others. When we do that, however, when we isolate ourselves in order to focus exclusively on ourselves we can and often do forfeit the opportunity to reach out to others just as they forfeit the opportunity to reach out to us. When that happens we are not living the life God wants us to live, a life dedicated to service to Him through service to others. When we don’t live our life the way God wants us to we don’t fully live the life He has blessed us with. By thinking only of ourselves we become our own little gods and we ignore the God who has blessed us with life and wants us to be a blessing to others. That, is a life wasted.

Read Psalm 18:1-6

[Jesus] said to his disciples, “Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?”

— Mark 4:40 (NIV)

PRAYER: Dear Lord, in all the difficult situations we experience in our lives, help us to firmly trust in you. Amen.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: In the storms of life, God is always present.
