UNION — A Buffalo businessman has chosen Union to be the location of the second office of his insurance agency.
In a ceremony attended by a number of local officials including Union Count Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Jami Trammell, Union County Supervisor Frank Hart, and City of Union Mayor Harold Thompson who cut the ribbon, the new Union office of Security First Insurance had its formal opening Thursday afternoon.
Security First Insurance is owned and operated by Buffalo resident and businessman Steve Lewis, CPIA, LUTCF. It is one of two Security First offices Lewis owns in the area.
“We have two locations,” Lewis said. “We are in Greer and Union.”
Lewis said Security First Insurance is “an independent insurance broker. We represent probably 30 or more companies. We do auto, home, business, and life insurance.”
When deciding on a second location for his company, Lewis said he chose Union County because he wanted to serve the community he lives in and whose residents he knows.
“I live in Buffalo,” Lewis said. “I know a lot of people here. I’m local.”
Lewis is also the host of the “Stress Free Retirement Hour” on 94.5 FM WGTK. The show provides information and advice on retirement finances.
During the ribbon-cutting ceremony, Trammell spoke, welcoming Lewis and Security First Insurance to the Chamber and to Union County.
“The Chamber is thrilled to have Steve Lewis as a new Chamber Member,” Trammell said. “We are excited about his decision to locate his insurance agency, Security First here in Union County. Business owners such as this demonstrate that the climate here in Union County is on the upswing and that business is good! We are honored to have him and plan to assist him any way we can to ensure his success in our community.”
Located at 436-A Duncan Bypass, Union, Security First Insurance employs a staff of three and is open 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Friday.
