UNION COUNTY — Four homes, one of them in the Jonesville area and three in the City of Union, and the community center on Main Street in downtown Union will be the stops on this year’s “Christmas Tour of Homes.”
Meals on Wheels of Union County is inviting the public to “Step Into Homes of the Past & Present” during its annual Christmas Tour of Homes which will be held this Saturday from 12-5:30 p.m. The stops on this year’s tour will be:
• Millwood Home, 108 Cherokee Avenue, Union
• Parker Home, 603 East Main Street, Union
• Arthur House, 522 East main Street, Union
• Genoble Home, 678 Gault Creek Road, Jonesville
• Main Street Junction, 107 East Main Street, Union
Refreshments will be served at Main Street Junction during the tour.
Tickets for the tour are $15 and may be purchased at Something Special, Best of Me Salon & Spa, and Arthur State Bank on Main Street in downtown Union.
Christmas Tour of Homes is an annual fundraiser of Meals on Wheels of Union County which relies private donations and fundraising event to enable it to achieve its goal of serving one hot meal a day five days a week to needy persons who have applied for the service and met the group’s need criteria. An all-volunteer organization, Meals on Wheels of Union County delivers meals on 10 routes in the Union and Buffalo communities serving approximately 75 people a day.
The group uses 99 percent of its budget to purchase the meals it delivers with the rest used for mailing and postage.
