Gabriel Glass and Ty Beatty each added another score after the half and Sims cruised to a 54-0 victory to remain undefeated on the season.
“We are super proud of these guys,” said Head Coach Mitchell Moss. “We finish up division play next week as we travel to Boiling Springs. These guys have already clinched the division, and hopefully we can work hard next week so we can focus on the championship game in two weeks.”
The eighth grade football team defeated the eighth grade team from DR Hill on Thursday. Omar Glenn scored twice for the Tigers and TJ Glenn had an interception as the Tigers took a 16-8 lead into the halftime break. Omar Glenn would add two more touchdowns in the second half as Sims pulled away for a 30-8 victory.
Coach Mitchell Moss said, “I am super proud of this team. They faced adversity at the beginning of the season. We were 0-2 and have now gone on a five game winning streak. The coaching staff has done a great job of pushing and coaching these guys. We host Boiling Springs next week to try to finish second in the division.”
