Drop in at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, October 11, for our once-a-month non-competitive LEGO® Challenge Club and have fun creating! We supply the LEGOs®, you bring your imagination.
Want to test your skills and see how you might survive a natural disaster? Stop by the library from 4-6 p.m. on Tuesday, October 17 for our “I Survived!“ program. Based on the popular book series, the program connects STEAM activities to historic events, natural disasters, and more. Visit various stations, create a tornado in a bottle, simulate an earthquake with LEGOs®, and build a fort!
Meet our Artist-in-Residence, Andy Finkle, during our fun and creative workshop, “Let’s Draw Some Monsters!” Drop in from 3-7 p.m. on Thursday, October 19 and draw your own monster to take home.
Join us as we start a Teen Advisory Board (TAB), on the first Wednesday of every month at 4 p.m. We want to hear from 6th-12th graders about library programs, books, and other materials. Come for free food and fun! The next meeting is Wednesday, November 1.
Anime Club meets bi-weekly at 4 p.m. Learn about manga, anime, gaming, and Japanese culture. Next meeting is Thursday, October 19.
The library will host a 5-part Legal Services Series for adults. Classes will be held select Tuesdays at 5:30 p.m. The next class, on Tuesday, October 24, is titled Estate Planning. Listen to the experts, and receive free resources and information! Sponsored by South Carolina Legal Services.
In partnership with USC-Union, the library will begin to host computer classes. The first course, Computer Basics, will be on Monday, October 23 at 7 p.m. and Thursday, October 26 at 8 a.m. Classes will be held at USC-Union, on the corner of Church and Main, room 205. Registration is required due to limited space. Call 427-7140 to register. Seats will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Stay tuned for more news about our upcoming fall events!
