UNION — SOAR Championship Wrestling will return to Union on Saturday night for their second show of the year. This show, like the first, will be a fund raising effort for the USC Union Bantams athletic program and will be held at the Truluck Activity Center.
The card will feature a plethora of wrestling entertainment, including local favorite Deon Johnson as well as several other names fans of local wrestling will recognize. Fans will also see some new faces including, a wrestler making his South Carolina wrestling debut, Josh Goldberg.
SOAR Wrestling Promoter Ray “Bit’ Barber said, “We are happy to be able to host this event at USC Union again. USC Union is a place that is very dear to my heart, and is a pillar of the Union community. USC Union has provided many people with an opportunity to attend college that might not have been able to otherwise, and I am glad we have the opportunity to give back to a place that has helped shape the lives of many Union citizens.”
Advanced tickets can be purchased at Buffalo Pawn and Gun for $7 for adults and $5 for children. Tickets at the door will be $10 for adults and $5 for children. Doors will open this Saturday at 6:30, bell-time is scheduled for 7:30. Concessions will be available for purchase. A portion of all ticket sales and concession sales will benefit the USC Union Athletic program, which now includes, baseball, softball, and men and women’s soccer.
SOAR Championship Wrestling was founded in 2016 by Sir MO, a former WWE Tag Team Champion. Sir Mo will be one of the wrestlers featured on this month’s card.
Barber stated that SOAR hopes to continue to bring shows to Union every other month with the next show planned for October.
