Thank you and thank God for you

Charles Warner | The Union Times With the American and Christian flags flying overhead, this sign expresses the true meaning of Memorial Day. It is a day of remembrance of those who gave their lives in defense of America and the God-given freedoms enjoyed by the American people which define it. It is also a day to honor not only those who made the supreme sacrifice, but all Americans who have put on the uniforms of the armed forces of this nation in its service and defense, in both peace and war. Memorial Day, along with Veterans Day, is a day for a grateful nation to set aside the mundane matters of every day life and reflect upon those who have defended our nation and our freedoms and thank them for their service and, more importantly, thank God for giving us men and women willing to place themselves in harm’s way so that the rest might be safe and free in this God-blessed land.
