UNION — The Union County Clemson Club wants to remind all the Tigers of Union County that the club is holding its annual Kick-Off event this evening.
In a statement released this weekend, Young Alumni Chair Ben Loftis reminded Tigers that the Kick-Off event will be held this evening at Veterans Memorial Park. He said that doors will open for the event at 5 p.m. and dinner will be served at 6 p.m. followed by the evening’s program.
Loftis said that entry to the event is free with a club membership, which are available for $25 per family. He said that membership is open to all Clemson fans.
All attendees at the Kick-Off Event must be members of the Clemson Club. There is admission at the door.

Keynote speakers at the Kickoff will be former Union High School and Clemson defensive lineman Rashaad Jackson, and Don Munson, the radio Voice of the Clemson Tigers.
Rashaad Jackson had a distinguished career at Union High School, capped off with a senior season in which he accumulated 132 tackles, including 42 tackles for loss and 12 sacks. He participated in the 2003 Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas before entering Clemson as a member of the 2004 recruiting class. Jackson redshirted in 2004, but went on to play in 43 games and amassing 91 tackles including 20 tackles for loss and five sacks.
Don Munson began working with Clemson in 1994 as a part of the pregame, half time, and post game shows. In 2003, he began handling women’s basketball and baseball broadcasts as play-by-play announcer. In 2014, he served as play-by-play announcer for Clemson football.
The Kickoff will also feature a raffle with Clemson-related prizes including a corn toss set, two tickets to the Clemson-Notre Dame game, and the club’s traditional prize, a tailgate package.
The goal of the Clemson Club is to award academic scholarships to deserving students who will be attending Clemson.
