UNION COUNTY — The weather was not ideal but that didn’t stop the Union County High School Golf Team from beating three other teams Monday evening.
In a statement released Tuesday, Coach Rocky Cooper announced that the UCHS Golf Team “battled through the rain Monday to claim victory in their four-way match between Greer, Broome and Chapman.”
With Monday’s victories, Cooper said the Yellow Jackets are now 10-3 for the season.
Cooper said he was proud of the team for overcoming the elements and their competitors.
“It was tough out there today, the guys were soaked from the rain, but they didn’t let that effect them,” Cooper said. “I was proud of the way our guys responded today.”
Cooper said that leading the Jackets Monday was Garrett Alexander with a 42 and Trenton Crocker with a 43.
