UNION — The goal of the new primary health care center scheduled to open at the beginning of September is to become an important part of the community by providing state of the art quality medical care to the people of Union County.
In a statement released Thursday, Healing Springs Health Care CEO Floyd Jones announced that “coming soon will be the opening of a new primary health care center. Healing Springs Health Center will be located at 128 Medical Sciences Drive, Union. The planned opening date for the center is September 4, 2018 with operating hours Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.”
Jones said that the center “will provide complete primary care health service to families in the Union County area.” He said the staff will initially include the following professional medical providers:
• Dr. Charles Bounds who will provide medical services dealing with Metabolic Disease (Hpertension, Diabetes, Hyperlipidemia and associated diseases), Cardiovascular Disease, and Sports Medicine.

Jones, who brings more than 20 years of experience in Operational and Organizational Management to the facility, said these providers and the rest of the medical staff at the center “welcomes the opportunity to serve the community.” He said plans are for the facility, which will have nine examining rooms, to expand based on capacity with additional providers and staff being added after the first of the year to bring even more primary health care services to the community.
“Healing Health Springs Health Center will provide state of the art technology and quality medical care to Union County residents with the goal of becoming an important part of the Union County community,” Jones said. “We look forward to serving the entire community.“
Healing Springs Health Care is part of the ongoing efforts to bring additional medical and health care services to Union County. Jones said that Union County Supervisor Frank Hart and Union County Workforce Development Director Katherine Pendergrass played important roles in enabling Healing Springs to locate here.
Pendergrass said that goal of these efforts is provide the people of Union County with medical and health care services in addition to those provided by Union Medical Center. She said that efforts are also under way involving Don Shetley, Monty Kingsmore, and herself to bring an urgent care facility as well to Union County. The goal she said of these efforts is to maximize the health care and medical services available to the people of Union County and make them available to all residents of the community.
The announcement also included a statement from Hart’s office that “Hart is excited anytime another component is added to the strategic overall plan for Union County. He looks forward to Healing Springs’ opening day.”
