‘The Nurturing Nature of Words’

UNION — Piedmont Physic Garden is hosting a writing workshop led by award winning author Maureen Ryan Griffin on Saturday June 16 from 10 a.m.-noon.

Maureen Ryan Griffin designed “The Nurturing Nature of Words” workshop to help writers recognize what inspires them. This session will benefit anyone, whether following a dream career or writing for fun. She will guide activities that are useful for writing memoirs, poetry, novels and more.

Griffin has helped aspiring writers discover their potential through retreats, workshops, and classes for over 20 years through her business, Wordplay.

Recently, Griffin received the Central Piedmont Community College 2018 Irene Blair Honeycut Legacy Award which honors those that have “contributed outstanding service in support of local and regional writers.”

General admission is $20. PPG members receive a discount.

Piedmont Physic Garden, 301 East South Street Union, is a local botanical garden focused on health and wellness. PPG hosts private tours, workshops, and garden parties. Founded in 2014 by the Switzer family, the garden highlights the historical medicinal use of plants, with a specific interest in those from the Piedmont and Southern Appalachian corridor.
