UNION COUNTY — It’s always hard to say goodbye and that’s especially the case today, September 30, 2020, as The Union Times says goodbye to the people of Union County as our 170 years of service to them comes to an end with this, our final edition.
CARLISLE — The Town of Carlisle and the rest of Union County will lose a long-time mainstay of the local economy and supporter of the local community when Carlisle Finishing closes its doors by mid-November.
COLUMBIA — Andrena Powell-Baker, SCCED and an official with Lockhart Power Company, has been named to the Board of Directors for the South Carolina Economic Developers’ Association (SCEDA) for 2020-2021.
UNION COUNTY — The transfer of 911 Dispatch and Emergency Service, an agreement regarding judicial services, a new HVAC for a county department, filling a vacancy in another county department, the county football program, and a new roof for a former bank building that is now county property were the issues addressed by Union County Council during a special meeting on Thursday, August 27.
JONESVILLE — The Town of Jonesville and the rest of the upper part of Union County is an area of enormous potential that has only begun to be developed and developing that potential to its fullest to the benefit of the area and the rest of the County is why the Town has worked and is continuing to work with other local governments and agencies on a series of economic development projects.
