Hazel ‘Tootsie’ Porter Horne

UNION — Mrs. Hazel “Tootsie” Porter Horne, 73, 124 Catawba Hill Drive, widow of John William “J.W.” Horne, a very special mother went home to be with the Lord Monday, March 11, 2013 at her home.

Mrs. Horne was born in Union, S.C. on Nov. 11, 1939 a daughter of the late William Porter and Josie Belk Porter Fowler. She was a member of Mt. Joy Baptist Church.

Surviving are a daughter, Pamela H. McDonald and husband Jerry of Union; a son, Donald Ray Horne and wife Debra of Jonesville; two granddaughters, Rebecca Horne and Rachel Brewington and husband Michael; a very special person, Pat Harmon of Jonesville; two sisters, Nancy Clayton and husband Bobby and Betty Dabbs, all of Jonesville.

Mrs. Horne was predeceased by a brother Bud Porter.

Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at Porter Cemetery, conducted by Rev. Ralph Brown and Rev. Alan West. The family received friends immediately following the graveside service.

The family will be at the home of her daughter, Pamela and Jerry McDonald, 2512 Jonesville Lockhart Highway, Union and they would like to extend to a special thank you to Heartland Hospice.
