UNION — Mrs. Minnie Austin Knox, 87, 1817 Jonesville Highway, Union, S.C., widow of the late Lloyd C. Knox, passed away Monday afternoon, Feb. 18, 2013, at Ellen Sagar Nursing Home.

Mrs. Knox was born in Santuc, S.C. on April 23, 1926, a daughter of the late Nim Austin and Arzie Peahuff Austin. She was a member of Fairforest Baptist Church and was retired from Oakmont of Union.

Surviving are, a sister, Gladys Henderson and a brother Doug Austin and wife Jan, all of Union; eight grandchildren, Lynn Fox, April Beaty, Grace Jeter, Laura Parris, Summer Knox, Neil Burris, Kim Knox, and Christy Spears; and 20 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Knox was predeceased by one daughter, Judy Burris; two sons, Lloyd “Jonior” Knox and Frankie Knox; three sisters, Evelina Spoon, Elizabeth Lunsford, and Sue Wilbanks; and two brothers, John Austin and Fant Austin.

Grave side funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013, at Fairforest Baptist Church Cemetery, conducted by the Rev. Allen Gregory. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
