UNION — The Union Lions Club will “Walk for Sight” through downtown Union Saturday morning.
George Goings, Past District Governor for the Lions Club, said Thursday the goal of the walk is to increase the club’s visibility in the community and make the public more aware of what it does and what the South Carolina Lions do.
“We just want people to see us as Lions and see what we do,” Goings said. “Our main focus is helping people who have vision problems and needs assistance with glasses.”
Goings said that while the Lions Club will be staging the walk, the public is invited to join in the walk and to share in the light refreshments that will be served at the Lions Building at the end of the walk.
“We are always looking for good people who want to be Lions and make a difference in our community and our world,” Goings said.
The Lions Building is located at 134 E. Main St., Union. The walk will begin at the Lions building at 10 a.m.
“We hope to go down to the Y and then to the courthouse and then back to the building,” Goings said.
