The Union County Sheriff’s Office reported the following arrests:

— Cynthia Wilburn Arthur, 51, of 1421 Neal Shoals Road, Union, was charged with unlawful use of 911 around 12:23 a.m. on Feb. 26. According to the incident report, officers responded to a call in which Arthur said she wished to pick up property from her son’s residence. The officer observed Arthur to be under the influence, and Arthur stated she had been drinking alcohol throughout the night and before the officers’ arrival. Officers advised Arthur they could not give her a ride due to the late hour and her condition, and they also advised her not to call 911 unless it was an emergency. A short time later, dispatch advised that Arthur had called again with the same request. Officers went back to the residence, and Arthur stated the same request as before. She was placed under arrest and transported to Union County Jail.

— Joe Franklin Nichols, Jr., 23, of 125 Wingfield Drive, Union, was charged with reckless driving around 9:30 p.m. on Feb. 25. According to the incident report, officers confirmed that Nichols was driving 97 mph with the patrol car radar unit. When the officer told Nichols what speed he had clocked, Nichols said he had just felt a need for speed. Officers asked Nichols for consent to search the vehicle and he refused. He was placed under arrest for reckless driving and was transported to Union County Jail.

The Union County Sheriff’s Office reported the following incidents:

— A resident of Peach Orchard Road, Union, reported on Feb. 25 that his wallet was missing from the console of his vehicle after he left it overnight, thinking the vehicle was locked. The victim’s co-workers found the wallet in a dumpster and returned it to him. He said $400 was missing from it. A report was sent to investigations.

— A resident of Stoney Circle, Union, reported on Feb. 24 that an unknown subject took a green Ruger semi-automatic pistol from the top of his closet. The pistol was valued at $500, and the serial number was entered into NCIC on Feb. 25.

— A resident of Pineland Road, Union, reported on Feb. 25 that a Nintendo 3DS handheld game system, a Playstation 3 game, a Nintendo 3DS game and four Xbox 360 games were taken from his residence. The total value of items taken is $590. A report was filed and turned over to investigations.

The Union Public Safety Department reported the following incidents:

— Officers responded to a break-in at a residence on North Church Street in Union on Monday. The victim stated that someone had broken a window in the back door and gone through every room. A desktop computer was the only missing item reported at the time of the report.

— A resident of Church Street, Union, reported that the tag was stolen from his car some time between 11:30 p.m. on Sunday and Monday afternoon. The tag was entered into NCIC as stolen.
