UNION — The Union County boys basketball team found the bright side of a 68-55 loss to Corbin on Friday night.

“We’re never happy about a loss,” said Head Coach Will Hickson, “but if we play the rest of the season like we did the second half of that game, it’s going to be a good year.”

The Jackets met the host team of the Cumberland Falls Invitational Tournament for Round 3 and closed a 31-point halftime deficit to 10by the end of the third quarter.

“We finally hit some shots,” said Hickson whose team has struggled offensively in recent weeks. “We’ll see what we can build on from here. That’s a strong team we just played and our kids really battled. They are actually excited about watching film now, so I think we’re on the right track.”

T.J. Foster led Jackets scoring with 16 points. Recus Hughes and Keiston Smith each chipped in 11 points and Ken Goggins added seven.
