UNION — Mrs. Maggie Hopkins Rodgers, 82, widow of Mr. Fred Rodgers, 239 Vaughan Road, Union, S.C., died Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012 at her home.

Born Nov. 1, 1930, a daughter of the late Will and Hettie Hopkins. Mrs. Rodgers had retired from Millikin and was a member of New Emanuel Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Fred E. Rodgers, Willie Rodgers, both of Union; six daughters, Dorothy Porter of Union, Peggie Rodgers of Spartanburg, Jacquelene Rodgers of Union, Mary Smith of Spartanburg, Elizabeth Rodgers of Union, Eloise Rodgers of Jonesville; a granddaughter reared in the home, Tracey Cheek (John) of Santuc; three sisters, Willie Bradley of Maryland, Amber Glenn of Union, Minnie Talley of Union; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Dec. 28, 2012 at 2 p.m. a New Emanuel Baptist Church with Rev. James Mason officiating. Interment will follow at The Church Cemetery. Public viewing will be held Thursday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the funeral home.

The family is at the home 239 Vaughan Road, Union, S.C. 29379.
