The Giles family of Kelton welcomes a medical doctor into the family.

Dr. Chelsea Ngongang, the granddaughter of the late Enoumas “Bo” Giles and Lake Copeland Giles of Kelton, becomes a medical doctor at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore. Her grandfather “Bo” was a well known sharecropper in the area. He and his wife had 10 children.

Chelsea is the daughter of Dorothy Giles Nongang and the late Al Ngongang. Dr. Ngongang received her medical degree from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. Her grandmother encouraged all of the children and grandchildren to “get an education” and many of them have followed that advice by becoming responsible workers and excelling in medical fields, engineering, computer technology and small businesses here in the city and elsewhere.

Dr. Ngongang is doing her internship at Johns Hopkins in the areas of Internal Medicine/Cardiology.
