ABBEVILLE — Virginia A. “Gin” Bailey, 80, wife of the late Bob Bailey, of Abbeville, died Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012 at Self Regional Medical Center.

She was born in Lockhart, S.C., to the late Fred and Annie Crocker Allen.

Mrs. Bailey was a member of New Hope Presbyterian Church and an active volunteer with the Abbeville Area Medical Center. After being employed for almost 20 years with Flexible Technologies, formerly Flexible Tubing, she continued working until her retirement with the City of Abbeville Public Works Department.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Bailey was preceded in death by two brothers, Buddy Allen and Eldridge “Tiny” Allen

She is survived by two sons, Reid Bailey, Jr. and his wife, Donna, and Joel ‘Buck’ Bailey, both of Abbeville; two sisters-in-law, Murrell “Butchie” Allen and Janice Allen, both of Lockhart, S.C.; and a grandson, Zachery Bailey.

The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 23, 2012 at New Hope Presbyterian Church. Funeral services will follow beginning at 2 p.m. in the church with the Rev. John Fastenau officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
