Union Public Safety awarded grant funding

An upgrade is on the way for the Union Public Safety Department.

Chief Sam White informed the Union City Council at its regular meeting Tuesday night the South Carolina Department of Public Safety has awarded the Union department a grant through the Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) program in the amount of $23,180 for a Criminal Justice Information and Reporting System.

Also at Tuesday’s meeting, a resolution was passed to allocate a cash match of $2,500 for completion of a project to provide upgrades to Union Mill Village.
