The incident report states the teen, who was suspended from school and was escorted from the premises after becoming irate and using profanity in the presence of the principal, threatened to jump out of the vehicle while it was moving. The driver told the responding deputy she grabbed the girl to keep her from jumping out and ended up grabbing her hair. She said the teen then closed the door and hit her twice in the face with her fist. This caused her to lose control of the car and hit a guard rail.
When first taken into custody, the report states the teen told the deputy the victim was abusive, had hit her in the head and face a couple of weeks earlier and had smoked marijuana with her within the past week. The report states that DSS and DJJ were notified of the incident and the accusations and when the teen heard DSS was contacted she told the deputy she lied about the victim smoking marijuana with her. She said she wanted to give a statement and was permitted to do so after being advised of her rights.
The victim gave a written statement at the patrol office. A DJJ complaint form and a booking sheet were completed and the teen trasnported to DJJ in Columbia.
