Travis Joe Ellison, 24, 234 Cedar Lane, Pacolet, is charged by the Union County Sheriff’s Office with kidnapping, criminal sexual conduct and criminal domestic violence.
The incident report states the victim reported she’d been at a friend’s house on Wild Turkey Lane early Thursday morning when Ellison came into the residence and assaulted her. The victim said Ellison hit her about the face and arms many times leaving bruises about her body.
The report lists the victim’s injuries as including bruising about the body, a cut on the left hand and bite marks. Photos of these were taken as evidence.
The victim said she tried to get away two times but Ellison caught her and held her against her will for three or four hours forcing her to have sex with him. She said she did so to avoid further injury. The woman said Ellison told her if she called the police he would do her more bodily harm.
Ellison was taken into custody Friday morning.
Assault And Battery
Third-Degree
A Jonesville woman was arrested Wednesday for allegedly hitting a man the previous week.
Donnie Lynn Sprouse, 35, 611 Forest St., Jonesville, is charged by the sheriff’s office with assault and battery third-degree.
The incident report states deputies were dispatched just after midnight July 31 concerning an assault. They met with the victim who told them he’d been sitting outside at a table at 870 Jonesville-Lockhart Highway when Sprouse came up and hit him in the face.
The report states the victim was intoxicated when deputies spoke with him. The witnesses interviewed by the deputies were also intoxicated and gave conflicting stories with one saying Sprouse hit the victim and another saying the victim fell down on his face.
The report states that when interviewed by deputies Sprouse denied striking the victim. It also states Sprouse did not appear to have been drinking.
Sprouse was taken into custody Wednesday morning.
Drug Possession
A Union man ended up in jail on traffic and drug charges after deputies stopped his car Wednesday morning.
James David Sherfield, 43, 107 Wallace St., Union, is charged by the sheriff’s office with driving under suspension and possession of a Schedule IV narcotic.
The incident report states a deputy made a traffic stop on a Ford driven by Sherfield on West Main Street in Union shorly before 9 a.m. Wednesday. Sherfield was intially taken into custody for driving under suspension. A search of Sherfield’s car turned up Alprazolam 1mg in the center console.
Incidents
The following incidents are being investigated by the sheriff’s office:
Four-Wheeler Stolen
The key left in the ignition made it easier for a thief or thieves to steal a four-wheeler from under a shed at 1437 Mudbridge Road, Buffalo sometime between 8 p.m. July 29 and just before 3:30 p.m. July 30.
The incident report states a deputy was dispatched to the location July 30 in reference to the theft. The victim said he normally kept the vehicle in a building but to use it July 29 to pull his lawnmower — which had broken down as he was mowing the lawn — he left it under a shed. He said he left the four-wheeler under the shed with the key in the ignition so the repairman could use it to move the lawnmower.
The victim said he noticed the vehicle was missing the following afternoon. He said his wife told him she was awakened during the night by what sounded like a four-wheeler.
The four-wheeler is a red Honda 350, possibly a 1985 model. It’s rear brakes do not work and there is a bite mark in the seat the victim said was made by a cow. He estimated the value of the four-wheeler at $1,000.
TV Stolen
A 32-inch flatscreen TV worth $800 was the the target of the thief or thieves who broke into a residence at 340 Jonesville-Lockhart Highway, Jonesville, sometime between 6:20 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. August 5.
Air Conditing Units, TV, VCRs Stolen
A man’s plans to cut the grass were interrupted when he discovered the trailers and outbuildings on the property had been broken into.
The incident report states a deputy was dispatched Thursday to a residence at 4432 Whitmire Highway, Whitmire in reference to a break-in. The complainant told the deputy he’d come to mow the grass for the victim and discovered everything had been broken into. The break-in occurred sometime between 6 p.m. July 23 and 7 a.m. August 5 when someone entered the residence by prying open the back door causing $200 worth of damage.
The items taken from the residence include an 18000 BTU air conditioning unit ($350) and a VCR ($100). The thief or thieves also entered a second trailer through a window at the site and stole a 25-inch TV ($200), a VCR ($75) and a window air conditioning unit ($250). The trailer was not damaged.
Two outbuildings were also entered by the burglar(s) but nothing was missing.
Burglary/Larceny
Jewelry and cigarettes were the target of the burglar or burglars who broke into a car and a residence at 155 Sedgefield Drive, Union, sometime between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. August 2.
The incident report states a deputy was dispatched August 2 to the residence in reference to a break-in. The victim said she was leaving her residence when she noticed the trunk of her black 1997 BMW was open. She said the vehicle smelled like someone had been smoking in it even though she never lets anyone do that. A pack of Galaxy cigarettes worth $3 was missing from the trunk.
The victim said she was gone for approximately 30 minutes and when she returned her kitchen window was open and the screen broken. She said she’d turned her bedroom light off before she left but now it was on.
The items stolen from the house included a gold diamond ring with two stones missing and a silver black Onyx ring, both of which the victim said had been on the dresser in her bedroom. The gold ring is valued at $400 and the silver ring at $100.
Also stolen was $5 in cash the victim said had been on a table in her living room.
Engine Hoist Stolen
A red and black two-ton engine hoist was stolen from beneath a carport at 118 Ponderosa Drive, Union, sometime between May 1 and July 29. The victim said he purchased the hoist, which rolls on four wheels, in 1990 and had last seen some two months earlier. The hoist is valued at $150.
Automobile Parts Stolen
A black plastic part was stolen off of a gold 2000 Chrysler parked at 304 Railroad St., Union, sometime between 10 p.m. July 29 and 2 p.m. July 30. The part, which was attached between the hood and the windshield, is valued at $100.
Tractor Damaged
A radiator leak that forced the driver of a tractor to stop and check under the hood turned out to be the work of a vandal.
The incident report states that a deputy was dispatched August 2 to the intersection of US 176 and Forest Street in Jonesville in reference to the vandalism of a tractor. The victim told the deputy that his orange Kobota M95S tractor was parked at the intersection of Gaffney Highway and Jerusalem Road at 2 p.m. July 30. He said it was sometime between then and 8:30 a.m. that morning that someone vandalized the tractor.
The victim said someone used a flat blade object to puncture the radiator and oil cooler. To do that, the victim said the vandal had to raise the hood of the tractor. They then put the hood back down so that the operator didn’t notice the fluid coming from the radiator until he’d reached the intersection of US 176 and Forest Street.
The report states the victim estimated it would cost $1,000 to repair the tractor.
Car Vandalized
A brown 2000 Pontiac Grand Am was the target of a vandal or vandals who did $900 worth of damage to the vehicle sometime between 11 p.m. July 27 and 2 p.m. July 28 while it was parked at 130 Poinsett St., Union. The report states that the trunk, doors and quarter panels of the vehicle were scratched and an obscenity scratched on the hood.
Broken Window
The sound of a basketball being bounced in the roadway of a residence at 202 Proctor Road, Jonesville shortly after 2 p.m. July 31 was followed by a rock crashing through the building’s front window. The victim said she’d heard the bouncing and then heard something hit her window. She said she didn’t see anyone outside but found a rock on the floor. Damage was estimated at $600.
Sugar In Gas Tank
A trip to get gasoline lead to an unpleasant surprise for the owner of a 2003 Dodge when her daughter discovered there was sugar in the vehicle’s gas tank.
The incident report states the damage was done sometime between 1 p.m. July 26 and 9 a.m. July 27 while the vehicle was parked at 112 Wedge Wood Court, Union. The victim said she’d just gotten back from the garage where it had undergone repairs. When her daughter took it to get gas she discovered sugar had been put in the tank. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $300.
Another Car Damaged
Earlier this month someone did $200 worth of a damage to a 2006 Chrysler 300 four-door while it was parked at 115 Crescent Road, Union by scratching the top of the vehicle.
Fence Cut
A Jonesville man learned he was the victim of an act of vandalism after receiving a call that some of his cattle was out on the Gaffney Highway.
The incident report states a deputy was dispatched to 1381 Gaffney Highway, Jonesville, on August 2 in reference to someone cutting a fence to a pasture. The victim said he received a call July 31 that some of his cows were out on the highway. He told the deputy the wire fence had been cut from the top to the bottom of one of the poles. The damage was estimated at $100.
Window Shot Out
The window of a utility house at 919 Philipi Church Road, Union, was shot out sometime between 9 a.m. July 31 and 6 p.m. August 2 causing $15 worth of damage.
Screen Cut
The screen to the window of trailer at 1303 Jonesville-Lockhart Highway, Lot 4, Union, was cut sometime between 5 p.m. July 28 and noon July 29 causing $10 worth of damage.
