Bruce Wayne White, 51, 307 Askew Circle, Union, is charged by the Union County Sheriff’s Office with assault and battery third-degree.
The incident report states deputies were dispatched to White’s residence Friday afternoon in reference to a domestic dispute. They were met in the yard by the complainant who said White had grabbed the victim around the neck and placed his hand over her nose and mouth area. The woman said White became angry because the victim’s dog had killed one of his chickens. She said he threatened to kill the dog and then kicked it.
This made the victim angry and she screamed at White to stop. The complainant said White then ran toward the victim, grabbed her around the neck with one arm and place his free hand over her face. The woman said she told him to let go of the victim but he wouldn’t. She said she tried to pull his hand off the victim’s face and he finally let go.
The responding deputies then went into the building and spoke with the victim who said after she yelled at White to quit kicking the dog he grabbed her around the face as if trying to smother her. She said the complainant tried to get White off of her but he would not let go until she screamed, “Call the police.”
The report states both women gave written statements about the incident and photos were taken of the victim’s injuries. The victim complained of pain around her right ear and had redness on her right arm which she said happened during the struggle. She said she wanted to press charges against White. He was taken into custody and transported to jail.
