Union County Yellow Jacket coaches, cheerleaders, and players were all dressed in their game day black and gold for the annual media day held Friday morning at Union County High School.

After the camera flashes stopped, the players headed to the locker room to shed the pads for Friday’s first practice.

"We're gonna have to get after it, " head coach David Lipsey said.

The Yellow Jackets will start the much anticipated two-a-day practices next week.

"We will work on fundamentals and putting our plan together" coach Lipsey said.

Wednesday will be the first true test when the Jackets dress in full gear for contact practices. When the they suit up on Wednesday expect the energy level to rise.

"Execution goes down and the intensity goes up," coach Lipsey said about a team's first day of full contact.

Monday and Wednesday’s practices times are set for 8 a.m and 6 p.m. On Tuesday and Thursday practices begin at 9 a.m and 6 p.m. The team will conclude practice next week with a scrimmage at Chester High School at 9 a.m.

"We're excited about kicking the season off," coach Lipsey added.
