Union’s Dixie Belles won the state tournament last week by defeating Lancaster 2-1 in the championship game played at Timken Sports Complex. Now this week, they have packed their bags and are heading to Pineville, La., site of the 2010 Dixie Belles World Series.

Tonight at 6 p.m. the Union Dixie Belles’ players and coaches will be leaving from the old Winn-Dixie parking lot across from the Union County Stadium. The public is encouraged to come out and show thier support for our team. Bring your cameras and banners and enjoy this moment with the 2010 Dixie Belles State Champs.

The Union Belles play versus host state Louisiana at 11 a.m. on Saturday.
