Several plead guilty in General Sessions Court

The following persons pleaded guilty or were tried before Judge John C. Hayes III of York in General Sessions Court last week:

Donald Hallman, 360A Mims Road, Sumter, tried and found guilty of shoplifting in excess of $1,000, 10 years.

Tommy McGowan Jr., 409 N. First St., Lockhart, to two counts of distribution of marijuana first offense and to distribution of marijuana within proximity school, park or playground, 18 months on each charge, sentences to run concurrent with any Youth Offenders Division sentence he might receive.

Nathaniel Pride, 600 Cambridge St., Carlisle, to distribution of crack cocaine, 18 months.

Cedrick Tucker, 583 Labow Road, Carlisle, to distribution of crack cocaine first offense, three years.

Juan Booker, 209 Hilltop Road, Enoree, to petit larceny, time served and a civil judgment of $100.

Arthur Edwards, 407 Lakewood Drive, Union, to possession with intent to distribute marijuana first offense, five years suspended upon 90 days, three years probation and $500 paid to the Public Defenders Fund; to possession with intent to distribute a Schedule III narcotic, five years suspended upon 90 days and three years probation; sentences to run concurrently and to be served on the weekend beginning July 23.

Arthur Gist, 407 Lakewood Drive, Union, to possession with intent to distribute cocaine first offense, three years suspended upon two years probation, 10 days Public Service Employment and $500 paid to the Public Defenders Fund; to possession with intent to distribute marijuana first offense, 30 days suspended; sentences to run concurrently.

Thomas Hughes, 143 Locus Pass, Union, to possession of crack cocaine first offense, one year suspended upon six months probation and $500 paid to the Public Defenders Fund.

Terrance Mayfield, 2513 Canaan Pointe Road, Spartanburg, to being a haitual offender, two years suspended upon six months probation; to driving under suspension, six months with credit for time served; sentences to run concurrently with Spartanburg County sentence.

Steven Moore, 211 Maple St., Union, to shoplifting third offense, 18 months with credit for 43 days.

Ronald Palmer, 101 Washington St., Union, to assault and battery second-degree, time served.

Pierre Peake, 205 Pinetree Lane, Union, to three counts of distribution of crack cocaine, three years with credit for 50 days on each count, sentences to run concurrently.

David Watson, 6215 Couch Hill Lane, Charlotte, NC, to forgery, three years suspended upon time served and three years probation, $500 paid to the Public Defenders Fund and restitution of $1,674.75.

Tammy Winchester, 104 White Oak St., Union, to resisting arrest, one year suspended upon one year probation and $500 paid to the Public Defender Fund.
