Authorities are searching for the man who left behind guns and drugs when he abandoned his car to avoid arrest.

The incident report filed with the Union County Sheriff’s Office states a deputy was dispatched Thursday evening to the 900 block of Cedar Grove Road in the Jonesville area in response to an SC Highway patrolman pursuing a vehicle. The patrolman told the deputy he attempted to stop a white 1996 Buick on US 176 and Cedar Grove Road. He said the vehicle had turned on to Cedar Grove Road at a high rate of speed, didn’t make the curve and ran off the road into an embankment. A black male in a white shirt got out of the vehicle and ran into the woods.

A search of the area by law enforcement personnel, including a K-9 Unit, failed to find the suspect.

The report states a .32-caliber Police Positive handgun and a .22-caliber H&R Model 929 were found on the front seat of the Buick. Also found was an open red sunglass case containing four white rocks believed to be crack cocaine. Four small bags of marijuana and four white pills with OC and 10 on them were also found.

The deputy went to the residence on Frank Hill Loop and determined there had been a fight between Spencer and the victim.
