The Fourth of July is almost here and preparations for the celebration to be held at Foster Park in Union on Saturday, July 3, are continuing.
There are several activities planned for Saturday’s event, including music by Highway 49 Band beginning at 6 p.m. and several vendors selling food and other items throughout the afternoon and evening with it all being capped off with a fireworks show after dark.
While the celebration is less than a week away now, the Union County Chamber of Commerce and Union County Recreation Department still are accepting donations for the event.
More than $4,000 has been donated to make the Fourth of July Celebration at Foster Park possible this year. According to Renee Alexander with the chamber, 20 individuals, businesses and organizations — at various donation levels — have stepped up to make this year’s event a reality.
Anyone interested in donating to the event still can do so through the end of this week by contacting Alexander at the chamber office. Call (864) 427-9039 for more information or to find out where to send donations.
