The information age is here.

People around the world are communicating with each other through several outlets like social networking and Web sites.

The Union Daily Times is glad to be a part of that explosion of communication and is proud to offer its readers and the Union County community several ways to get in touch with its newsroom.

Whether it’s to submit a letter to the editor, engagement announcement, wedding write up, photos, story ideas, community calendar events, church events or any other news item, the people of Union County have several options as to how to send them to The Times or let the newsroom know what’s going on in the area.

The Union Daily Times can be found on the Web at www.uniondailytimes.com and on Facebook. Readers and community members also can call or — if it’s pen and paper a person prefers — write to anyone in the newsroom

“The Technological Revolution and the Information Age of the 21st century have ushered in an era of rapid change in the way we live, especially when it comes to the news,” said Times Editor Charles L. Warner. “While we continue to publish a hard copy version of The Union Daily Times and, on Monday’s, The Weekly Union Grapevine, our main effort is increasingly on the Internet. A person who subscribess to the online version of The Union Daily Times knows the day’s news long before the print version hits the streets and that’s how we want it.”

News never sleeps and The Times is committed to bringing the people of Union County the latest in local headlines — in print and online — and the newspaper wants the community to be involved.

That’s why it offers all of these ways to contact the newsroom.

The Times values its community and encourages everyone to use any of these methods to submit news, story ideas or other items as often as they would like.

“With the growth of the Internet and the information it provides about events around the world, local news is an even greater priority for this newsaper,” Warner said. “Our intention is to provide maximum coverage of local news, sports and features on a daily basis and to make it available to our readers — both here in Union County and around the world — as soon as possible. That’s what we’re doing and that’s what we’re going to continue to do so that, 160 years from now, the people of this community — and the rest of the world — will still be turning to The Union Daily Times to find out what’s going on in Union County.”
