Union County’s tennis team lost 4-2 to powerhouse Clinton Monday.

“I thought our kids played hard to a very strong Clinton team,” coach Tom Adamo said. “Joseph sawyer continued his dominance in region play having only one region loss thus far, with only one more match left to play.”

In singles play, David Hope lost to Crocker 6-1, 6-0; Brett Ayers was defeated by Undari 6-1, 6-1; Jacob Robbins lost to Lawton 6-0, 6-0; Joseph Sawyer beat MacMillian 6-4, 6-4; Matt Haney defeated Powell 4-6, 6-4, (13-11).

In doubles play, Andrew Adamo and Hunter Davis lost to Usti and Peay 6-1, 6-1.

Union County (9-6 overall, 4-5 region) will finish their season at home against Greer 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.
