The Potters House in Jonesville will hold another food distribution event Saturday, May 1, for those in need of food assistance.

Pastor Don Moore reports food is once again in short supply at the church’s food bank and demand is ever increasing. Moore said the church needs about 10,000 more pounds of food the serve the more than 1,000 people it serves through the food bank each month and make sure everyone gets food during the May 1 distribution.

The church is closing on 1,100 families — representing 3,000 people — registered to receive food through the food bank and more are expected. Anyone who has not registered already and is in need of assistance can register the morning of distribution.

Anyone interested in volunteering should report to the church at 4 p.m. Friday, April 30, to help box food.

Those needing more information or interested in donating food or making a cash donation to the food bank are encouraged to contact Moore at (864) 680-3465.
