Kashif Poiteie Nash, 21, 100 Cross Creek Court, Apt. 39K, Central, is charged by the Union County Sheriff’s Office with possession of marijuan and possession of crack cocaine.
The offense report states on Thursday deputies observed several individuals standing in the parking lot of a trailer park at 125 Rogerstown Road. The report states narcotics officers had recently received complaints about illegal narcotics activity taking place late at night in the area.
As the deputies exited from their vehicle, the report states Nash started running way. One of the deputies caught Nash and, according to the report, located a set of digital scales which contained a white substance believed to be crack cocaine on the top of the scale and on a razor blade inside the scale’s lid.
The other deputy found another set of digital scales inside another pants pocket which also had a white substance on it. The report states while searching around the area where Nash first ran from a deputy found a small bag of marijuana.
Nash was transported to the Union County Jail and his vehicle was towed away.
Brother And Sister Arrested
A brother and sister ended up in jail after he alllegedly attempted to resist arrest and she allegedly tried to hinder deputies.
Terry Lorenzo Smith, 34, 304 Rice Ave., Union, is charged by the sheriff’s office with resisting arrest. Lisa Ann Brandon, 41, 726 Rice Ave. Extension, Apt. 8E, Union, is charged by the sheriff’s office with hindering an officer.
The incident report states deputies and Union Public Safety officers went to Brandon’s home in reference to a CrimeStoppers tip on Smith who was wanted on an active Family Court bench warrant. When they arrived, the deputies and officers knocked on the door and announced their presence. The report states they could hear movement inside the residence and also saw a television and light turned off through the back window. They continued to announce their presence and knock for 30 minutes but nobody came to the door.
Contact was made with the maintenance person for the complex who said he was 45 minutes away. The report states that law enforcement gained entrance to the apartment by jimmying the lock and pushing it open. This, the report states, caused some minor damage to the molding because the door was still secured with a chain lock.
Once inside, law enforcement personnel observed someone closing a bathroom door and locking it. The report states the persons inside the bathroom ignored commands that they open the door. Entrance was gained when law enforcement personnel breached the door, damaging it and the door jam
Smith was then arrested on the bench warrant and for resisting arrest. Brandon was arrested for hindering an officer. Both were transported to jail.
