HILTON HEAD, SC — J. Murphy Lemmon, 50, of Hilton Head Island, died Thursday, April 8, 2010 at his residence.

Murphy was a graduate of The University of South Carolina, where he played on the golf team. He was the owner of Palmetto Prestige Properties and was a member of the Board of Realtors, MLS on Hilton Head Island. He enjoyed golf, fishing and motorcycle riding with his son Jordan and has been a resident of Hilton Head Island since 1982.

He is survived by his son Jordan of Hilton Head Island; his mother Patricia Lemmon of Union, SC; two brothers, Derrick of Daniel Island, SC and Kevin of Mt. Pleasant, SC; two nephews, Collin of Mt. Pleasant and Matthew of Daniel Island; two nieces, Madeline of Daniel Island and Caroline of Mt. Pleasant. He was preceded in death by his father James Murphy Lemmon, Sr.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Six Oaks Cemetery.

The Island Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
