Robert was retired from Bowaters Construction as a Pulpwood Finisher. Survivors are his wife Iola B. Jeter of the home; two sons, James Smith of Jonesville and Robert E. Jeter of Spartanburg; seven daughters, Elizabeth (Johnnie) Mitchell of Carlisle, Linda Smith and Lillan Jeter, both of Spartanburg, Rose M. Jeter of Santuc, Shirley Kershaw and Cynthia (Frank) Rice, both of Jonesville, and Lorita Jeter of Boiling Springs; four brothers, John R.(Annie Ruth) Jeter, Jr. of Carlisle, Ervin (Linda) Jeter of Union, Rice (Lilly Pearl) Jeter of Jonesville, and Aiken (Roselyn) Jeter of Santuc; two sisters, Martha and Mary Ruth Jeter, both of Santuc; 26 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, April 10, 2010 at 3 p.m. at Bethesda Baptist Church by Rev. Courtney Mills and Rev. A. L. Brackett, and Pastor Bernice Bryson. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 2 p.m. to await the hour of service.
The family is at the home of his daughter and son-in -law Cynthia (Frank) Rice, 1248 Gaffney Hwy. Jonesville, SC. Viewing will be today from noon-7 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
