William Taylor Arnette, 17, 122 South St., Buffalo, is charged by the Union County Sheriff's Office with possession with intent to distribute marijuana and possession with intent to distribute marijuana within a half-mile of a park. Rebecca Ann O'Dell, 18, also of 122 South St., Buffalo, is charged by the sheriff's office with simple possession of marijuana.
Deputies were dispatched to Linersville Road shortly before 2 a.m. Wednesday in reference to a vehicle being stuck in a ditch. When they arrived, the deputy found several individuals trying to get a black, 1997 Nissan Altima out of the ditch. A deputy spoke with the driver, O'Dell, who said she and her passengers were trying to turn around in the driveway of a nearby residence and had backed into the ditch.
The report states deputies were then advised by a superior the car might have been involved in the break-in of another vehicle earlier in the night. They asked for and received permission to search the Nissan during which they found two large plastic bags containing a green plant-like material believed to be marijuana in the trunk area. The two bags contained a total of 17 smaller baggies the report describes as packaged for sale.
A further search of the vehicle turned up a small amount of marijuana rolled up in a sales slip in O'Dell's purse.
The report states one of the passengers, Arnette, claimed the bags of marijuana were his. Both he and O'Dell were arrested and transported to the Union County Jail.
Criminal Domestic Violence
An argument over money that escalated into violence landed a woman in jail Monday night.
April Michele Varnadore, 37, 106 Johns St., Union, is charged by the sheriff's office with criminal domestic violence.
The incident report states a deputy was dispatched to Varnadore's residence in response to a 911 hang-up call. When the deputy arrived, the report states he heard several people inside the building arguing. He knocked on the door and spoke with the victim who told him Varnadore was intoxicated and causing a disturbance. The victim said Varnadore had gotten upset with him because he wouldn't give her money to buy what the report calls contraband. This started an argument during which Varndore hit him on the left side of his face.
The report states photos were taken of the swelling under the victim's left eye and another person at the residence witnessed the assault. Varnadore was arrested at the scene and transported to jail.
Indecent Exposure
Surveillance footage led to a man being arrested for exposing himself to a clerk at a local store.
Tori Marquis Littlejohn, 21, 988 John Hart Road, Jonesville, is charged by the sheriff’s office with indecent exposure.
The incident report states deputis were dispatched March 11 to the store at 821 Main St., Buffalo, in response to a report of a man exposing himself. The deputies spoke with the clerk who said a black male called her over to the aisle and exposed his privates to her. She said she walked away and informed the manager. As they were calling 911 the man who she said had exposed himself left the building.
Deputies viewed the store’s surveillance footage but the report states the picture was fuzzy. The manager told deputies she would show the footage to other clerks to determine the man’s identity. She said he came into the store all the time.
The report states on March 12 a deputy was contacted by the manager who said a clerk had identified the man as Littlejohn. The deputy took down the information over the phone and then met with the clerk the following week to get a postive identification. The clerk identified the man as Littlejohn on March 28 and a warrant was issued for his arrest. He was taken into custody Tuesday evening.
