According to a release from Union County Sheriff David Taylor, Union County Drug Task Force narcotic officers with assistance from Union County sheriff’s deputies, Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office and Union Public Safety officers armed with a search warrant found a meth lab with finished product at 223 Westview Drive in Union on Thursday March 25.

When deputies arrived they found a lab in the loft of the house with chemicals used to make meth — pills soaking as well as paraphernalia to manufacture methamphetamine. Narcotic officers found receipts from stores from three counties — Spartanburg, Newberry and Union — for chemicals used in the production of meth.

Also, based on statements, officers received consent to search another location at 826 Sardis Rd. in Union and found an inoperable meth lab with more chemicals and paraphernalia found under the house and back deck.

Taylor said the meth operation has been going on for several months and the Drug Task Force has had the operation under surveillance for more than a month before obtaining the search warrant.

The following two people were charged in connection to the meth labs:

• Leslie Eddie Garner, 41, 223 West View Drive, Union.

• Susan Arwen Collier, 33, also of 223 West View Drive, Union.

Both face charges of trafficking methamphetamine and trafficking methamphetamine within a mile of a park.
