The pageant was held at the Lexington County School District Three Fine Arts Center in Batesburg-Leesville. There were 28 young ladies from across the state who participated in the event which was sponsored by the Batesburg-Leesville High School FFA chapter.
Contestants were judged on their applications, personal interview, and evening gown competition. Five finalists were announced from the pool of 28 contestants and these finalists then answered an on-stage question to determine the new Miss South Carolina FFA.
To go along with her crown and banner, Miss Walker received a $500 scholarship from AgSouth Farm Credit to be used at the college of her choice. All finalists received plaques.
Libby Hrlic-Templeton, advisor of the Batesburg-Leesville High School chapter of FFA, was in charge of the event. 2009 Miss South Carolina FFA, Ariel Fox, served as Mistress of Ceremonies.
Other finalists included: 1st runner up – Stephanie Johnson, a senior at T.L. Hanna High; 2nd runner up – Mackenzie Mullikin, a junior at Pendleton High; 3rd runner up – Chelsie Goodman, a senior at Ridge Spring-Monetta High; and 4th runner up – Julia Miller, a junior at Strom Thurmond High.
