The team, which placed fourth in region last year, has had back-to-back 10-win seasons.
“Our goal of course is to win a state title, but our first goal is to make the playoffs,” coach Tom Adamo said. “I feel like our team is in the top three in a very tough tennis region.
“Riverside and Clinton have represented our region in the state finals the past two years and are both very strong again this year. Obviously the road to state runs through Riverside and Clinton,” he said. “We look forward to the challenge of beating these powerhouses.”
Return starters this year are team captain David Hope, Joseph Sawyer, Jacob Robbins, Brett Ayers and Andrew Adamo.
New to the team this year are Jacob Gault, Matt Haney and Hunter Davis.
While team team has tons of experience, Adamo is concerned about the team’s depth.
“Our strengths are that we are still very young and experienced,” Adamo said. “Our weakness is that we do not have much depth and I encourage anyone still interested to come on out. I am a registered ‘No Cut’ coach and would love to have as many players that want to play to come out. I am very excited about the future of Union tennis.”
