Dylan Jade Osborne, 17, and Winston Carl Skipper, 17, both of 132 Mulligan Road, are charged by the Union County Sheriff’s Office with grand larceny and malicious damage.
The offense report states the victims told deputies Osborne and Skipper used a shovel to break a glass window and door at 1068 Riley Road to get the keys to steal a 1993 Chevrolet. The report states the two took the vehicle, which is valued at $3,000, and then wrecked it somewhere on the Riley Road before driving it to 132 Mulligan Road in Spartanburg.
The vehicle was later found at a towing service in Spartanburg. The Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office was called in to process the vehicle and found blood inside it. In supplement to the original offense report, the Spartanburg County investigator states Skipper called the wrecker service late Tuesday afternoon to say he had a wrecked vehicle that needed to be towed from his house. It was after the vehicle was taken to the towing service that it was identified as stolen.
The investigating deputy writes the vehicle had sustained damage to its right front side, both windows on the right side were broken out, the left side was damaged, the left front tire was flat and the interior of the vehicle was damaged.
Osborne and Skipper were taken into custody Wednesday. Skipper was released on bond later in the day but Osborne was still in custody as of Thursday afternoon.
